What will the world economy look like after COVID-19? Will globalization retreat? Economies decouple? Nationalism and autarchy be the rule? Countries draw inward and become more protectionist? I propose an alternative scenario where the future world economy will need, and have, even more globalization, as I argued in a 7-minute presentation at the July 2020 Academy of International Business (AIB) online meeting. This is because the multinational corporation, despite some of its faults, performs an indispensable role in the world economy.
